51　animal，beast，cattle 和creature

① animal動物的總稱，與"植物(plant)"相對;也可表示除人類以外的"動物"。

Which animal do you like best，a dog，a cat or a horse?你最喜歡哪種動物，狗、貓還是馬?

Men，birds and tigers are all animals. 人、鳥、虎都是動物。

② beast四足獸，牲畜;指人時，含有貶義。

Lion is the king of beasts. 獅子是萬獸之王。

③ cattle指牛一類的牲畜，為集體名詞。
