① different from表示“與……不同”，后接名詞、代詞或從句。

College is different from high school. 大學(xué)與高中不同。

② different than表示“與……不同”，后接從句，特別是省略的從句，主要用于美式英語。

She looks different in person than（she looks）in movies. 她當(dāng)面看起來與從電影上看到的形象不一樣。
