238　during和through

① during表示“在……期間”，強(qiáng)調(diào)在某段時(shí)間內(nèi)發(fā)生了什么。

I often went to see her during my stay there. 我住在那里時(shí)常去看她。

These animals never go out of the hole during the whole winter. 在整個(gè)冬天，這些動(dòng)物從不出洞。

提示

要注意的是，during不可與表示具體長(zhǎng)度的時(shí)間詞連用，這時(shí)要用介詞for。for+時(shí)間名詞表示所用的總的時(shí)間，for短語(yǔ)常用于完成時(shí)中，也可用于過(guò)去時(shí)。

He has lived here during a long time.

He has lived here for a long time.

他住在這里已經(jīng)很久了。

Their discussion lasted for three hours. 他們的討論持續(xù)了三個(gè)小時(shí)。（for可省去）

② through的本意是“通過(guò)，穿過(guò)”，表示“自始至終”。

He walked through the town. 他步行穿過(guò)小城。

She slept all through the day. 她睡了整整一天。
