439　lie和lay

◎ lie是不及物動詞，要注意它表示不同含義時的不同變化形式：

lie，lay，lain，lying→平躺，位于，存在

lie，lied，lied，lying→說謊

I lay awake all night. 我一夜沒睡著。（本句中的lie用作系動詞）

He never lied in his life. 他一生中從沒說過謊。

①lie表示“躺”構(gòu)成的短語有：

lie on the grass躺在草地上

lie on one's back仰臥

②lay是及物動詞，意為“放置，生（蛋），產(chǎn)（卵）”，還引申表示“設(shè)置，鋪設(shè)，砌（磚），奠定（基礎(chǔ)）”等，注意其變化形式：lay，laid，laid，laying。

He laid the book on the desk. 他把書放在桌子上。

The hen lays an egg every other day. 這只母雞隔天下一個蛋。
