① oblige意為“迫使，責(zé)成”，為及物動(dòng)詞，結(jié)構(gòu)為：

oblige sb. to do sth.

be obliged to do sth.

They obliged him to leave the house. 他們迫使他離開了那所房子。

He was obliged to work for the boss without any pay. 他被迫為老板干活，沒有任何報(bào)酬。

② be obliged to sb. for sth./doing sth.意為“為……而感謝/恩”。這時(shí)obliged可用much，very much修飾。

He's much obliged to you for all you've done for him. 他十分感謝你為他做的一切。
