615　sit，seat和be seated

① sit是不及物動(dòng)詞，意為“坐”，過(guò)去式和過(guò)去分詞都是sat。

Please sit down. 請(qǐng)坐下。

He sat in the sofa/in the chair/on the stool. 他坐在沙發(fā)上/椅子上/凳子上。

② seat可用作名詞，意為“座位”，have/take a seat表示“請(qǐng)坐，坐”；take one's seat指在娛樂(lè)場(chǎng)所（如電影院等）對(duì)號(hào)入座，one's不可省。seat作動(dòng)詞用時(shí)，為及物動(dòng)詞，意為“使坐下，使就座”，后跟名詞或反身代詞作賓語(yǔ)，可用于被動(dòng)語(yǔ)態(tài)。seat還可表示“容納……人”。

sit down表示的動(dòng)作是非延續(xù)性的，不可同表示一段時(shí)間的狀語(yǔ)連用。比較：

“在座位上坐下”可以說(shuō)sit down on the seat，也可以說(shuō)sit down in the seat。
