Thirteen

A man is walking by an insane asylum and hears all the residents chanting, "Thirteen! Thirteen!" Quite curious about all this, he finds a hole in the fence, looks in and someone pokes him in the eye. Everyone in the asylum starts chanting "Fourteen! Fourteen!"

1.insane瘋狂的。Insane people are sometimes dangerous.精神病人有時(shí)非常危險(xiǎn)。

2. asylum精神病院。也可以指“政治庇護(hù)”： Having sought asylum in the West for many years, they were eventually granted it.他們獲得了在西方以尋求多年的避難權(quán)。

3.chant 反復(fù)有節(jié)奏地喊叫。

4.poke刺。也可以指“伸出”： His elbow poked out through his torn shirt sleeve.他的胳膊從襯衫的破袖子中露了出來。
