Okay, what I want to do is make like a windsurfer width 我要制作一艘 帆板寬窄的小筏

where the central bamboo's all tied together, 中間是捆在一起的竹子

and then just with a couple of outriggers on either side for stability. 在兩邊還有舷外支架 用于保持平衡

And then, in the middle of this one, 然后在中間這部分

Gonna have one upright with, like, an improvised sail on it. 我會樹一個 那種 簡易的帆在上面

Bamboo is perfect for building rafts. 竹子是做小筏的絕佳材料

It's strong, doesn't absorb water, 它強度高 不吸水

and most importantly, it's hollow, full of air,and super buoyant. 最重要的是它是空心的 竹節(jié)里充滿空氣 因此浮力超強

What I'm trying to do here is just create these sort of holes through the bamboo, 我現(xiàn)在要做的是 在竹子上戳些這種洞

And then I just put the smaller bit,straight through them all. 然后用一根小點的竹子 將它們穿起來

And that's gonna give good rigidity to it. 這樣就夠牢固了

This raft needs to be strong, 竹筏必須要結(jié)實

but it also needs to be big enough to support me in the sea swell. 同時也要有足夠大的面積 才能在海浪波濤中屹立不倒

And just put the crossbeams in here. 把大梁固定在這

It's gonna be the support for both the outriggers. 它能作為舷外浮材的支撐物

Okay, let's tie that. 好 現(xiàn)在把它們系起來

And now for the all-important sail. 現(xiàn)在要制作最重要的船帆

And then just for the sail,don't want anything too big and crazy. 對于這次航海來說 帆還不能太大太離譜

Sure is windy out there. 海上的風(fēng)很大

Let's go and use one bit of bamboo like this as a mast. 用一根這樣的竹子作桅桿

And I cut a bit of netting just in a sail shape. 我切下一塊帆型的漁網(wǎng)
