"He came," said the guard, and swore that an engine which stood near by was his.

“這人來后，”那位警衛(wèi)說，指天發(fā)誓說停放附近的那輛機(jī)車是他的，

He said it was one he had made to go to the moon in, and that it had been stolen from him.

他還說，那是他自造的發(fā)動(dòng)機(jī)，準(zhǔn)備開往月球，后來卻被人偷走了。

We sent for more help to arrest him, and he fled.

我們動(dòng)用了相當(dāng)警力展開抓捕，但他還是逃脫了。

"Well," I replied, with a shudder, "I wish he had approached me in the same way; but he was more cautious at Dantzic."
