1、Between you and me

你知我知，別告訴別人
告訴別人秘密之前常說(shuō)

Between you and me, I think Jerry's about to resign.
你別跟別人說(shuō)啊，我覺(jué)得Jerry要辭職了。

It's just between you and me, don't tell anybody.
這事你知我知，別告訴任何人。

2、Come between somebody
影響兩個(gè)人的關(guān)系
引起兩個(gè)人之間的不和、爭(zhēng)端
讓兩人產(chǎn)生問(wèn)題/矛盾

I let my stupid pride come between us.
我愚蠢的尊嚴(yán)讓我們之間產(chǎn)生了問(wèn)題。

The dog came between them.
這只狗讓他們之間產(chǎn)生了問(wèn)題。

Nothing can come between you and me.
沒(méi)有任何事情可以讓我們之間產(chǎn)生隔閡。

 

 

3、Between jobs/projects
沒(méi)有工作
在上一個(gè)與下一個(gè)工作之間
就是處于待業(yè)在家

When you say “you're between jobs”, you mean you don't have a job.
當(dāng)你說(shuō)“you're between jobs”，意思就是你沒(méi)有工作。

I'm between jobs right now.
我現(xiàn)在沒(méi)在工作。

When Jill was between projects, she took a computer class at the community college.
Jill手頭沒(méi)有項(xiàng)目的時(shí)候，她在那個(gè)社區(qū)大學(xué)上了一個(gè)電腦課程。

4、Read between the lines

揣摩別人說(shuō)的話背后的意思

You got to read between the lines when you listen to a women.

After listening to what she said, if you read between the lines, you can begin to see what she really means.
