英語早間課堂:S order (that) S (should) do.
This morning I'd like to share a sentence pattern with you which is : S order that S should do. In this sentence, "order" means " to use your position of authority to tell somebody to do something or say that something mus happen". 譯為：要求，指揮，命令。That S should do. 是賓語從句，謂語是should + 動詞原形，可見這里使用了虛擬語氣。凡是含有賓語從句的復(fù)合句中的主句中謂語動詞是order, 且其作為“give instructions”下達(dá)命令這個意思的話，后面跟的賓語從句要用虛擬語氣。此外，引導(dǎo)詞that和情態(tài)動詞should可以省略。注意了如果不是這個意思，就不能使用虛擬語氣。

The officer ordered they fire. 軍官命令他們開火。注意這句話從句中省略了引導(dǎo)詞that 和謂語中的情態(tài)動詞should, 因此fire這里使用其原形，不要因?yàn)榭吹街骶涫莖rdered，使用的是一般過去式，就認(rèn)為從句中也要用一般過去式，就使用fired。They ordered for every tree cut down two more trees be planted. 他們要求每砍一棵樹就要補(bǔ)栽兩棵樹。這里要注意從句中省略了引導(dǎo)詞that和謂語中的情態(tài)動詞should，所以cut 和 be使用的是其原形。
