188　no, not a，not any和not

1　no 作形容詞用時(shí)，只能作定語(yǔ)，后跟單數(shù)名詞、復(fù)數(shù)名詞或不可數(shù)名詞。no 和not a 或not any ?？蓳Q用，但使用場(chǎng)合有所不同。

比較下面不同的轉(zhuǎn)換情況：

no+單數(shù)名詞 →not a/ an+單數(shù)名詞

no+復(fù)數(shù)名詞 →not any+復(fù)數(shù)名詞

no+不可數(shù)名詞 →not any+不可數(shù)名詞

No two men think alike. 沒(méi)有兩個(gè)人的想法是相同的。

There is no book on the desk. 桌上沒(méi)有書(shū) 。（泛泛而談 ）

There is not a book on the desk. （強(qiáng)調(diào)沒(méi)有一本 ）

I have no umbrella . 我沒(méi)有傘 。

I have not an umbrella .

They read no books . 他們不讀書(shū) 。

They do not read any books .

There is no milk in the bottle. 瓶子里沒(méi)有牛奶 。

There is not any milk in the bottle.

There will be no difficulty . 不會(huì)有困難 。

There will not be any difficulty .

2　no 用作形容詞時(shí)，后面直接跟名詞，中間不可有any, many, much, enough等詞。

I have no ink. （正）我沒(méi)有墨水了 。

I have not any ink. （正）

I have not enough not/ much ink. （正）我沒(méi)有足夠的／許多墨水了 。

I have no any ink. （誤）

I have no enough ink. （誤）

提示

注意下面兩種否定形式的轉(zhuǎn)換：

nothing→not anything

not...any one of them→肯定動(dòng)詞...none of them

He has nothing . 他一無(wú)所有。

He has not anything .

I do not know any one of them . 他們我一個(gè)也不認(rèn)識(shí)。

I know none of them .

3　no+形容詞或副詞比較級(jí)+than 表示“兩者都不”。

John is no taller than Mike. 約翰不比邁克高。（兩人都矮 ）

It is no warmer than it was yesterday. 今天不比昨天暖和。

比較

This picture is not better than that one. 這幅畫(huà)不比那幅畫(huà)好。

This picture is no better than that one. 這幅畫(huà)一點(diǎn)不比那幅畫(huà)好。（兩幅畫(huà)都不理想）

4　not 可以放在hope等動(dòng)詞后，相當(dāng)于一個(gè)that引導(dǎo)的否定從句。

A: Will it rain tomorrow? 明天會(huì)下雨嗎 ？

B: I hope not . 我希望不下雨 。

A: May I sit here? 我可以坐在這里嗎 ？

B: I'm afraid not . 恐怕不行 。

5　not 可以表示部分否定。

Not everyone can do the work. 這項(xiàng)工作不是人人都能干的。

6　not 可以用在不定式前構(gòu)成否定式。

Tell her not to come again. 告訴她不要再來(lái)了。
