　go to school 表示“去上學(xué)，上課”，指去學(xué)校讀書學(xué)習(xí)；go to the school 表示“去學(xué)?！?，不一定上學(xué)，可能去開會或參觀。

It's time for us to go to school . 我們該去上學(xué)了。

A: Where's your mother? 你媽媽在哪里 ?

B: She's gone to the school . 她到學(xué)校里去了 。

我弟弟7歲上學(xué) 。

My brother went to the school at the age of seven. （誤）

My brother went to school at the age of seven. （正）

父親到學(xué)校同我的老師談了話 。

Father went to school to have a talk with my teacher. （誤）

提示

①leave school表示“畢業(yè)，退學(xué)”；leave the school表示“離開學(xué)?！薄?/p>

I left school two years ago. 我兩年前畢業(yè)了。

I graduated two years ago.

The teacher left the school five minutes ago. 老師5分鐘前離開了學(xué)校。

②in hospital表示“住院”，in the hospital表示“在醫(yī)院（工作等）”
