According to Ubisoft's latest blog post, the development team says that all purchasable content in Uncharted Alliance that may affect gameplay will be unlocked through in-game challenges to ensure fair play within the player community. This means that both newcomers and veteran players will have the opportunity to gain an in-game advantage through their own hard work and skill.

These trinkets won't have any impact on the actual gameplay, and players won't have to pay to earn them through in-game challenges.
