Tucked away on Jalan Sultan, Kam Kee's Hainanese chicken rice is another delicious stop forchicken rice just a few doors away from Nam Heong. The steamed chicken, silky-smooth andjuicy, sat in a pool of savoury soy sauce and sesame oil mix and accompanied the fluffy andfragrant rice perfectly. A tangy chilli dip countered the rich flavours of the rice and chicken,bringing everything together in one yummy bite.

Nam Heong Chicken Rice is a well-known name in the chicken rice business, with branches allover the Klang Valley. Prices are a little higher than kopitiams but you can dine on a variety ofdishes in comfort. Their roast chicken is caramelised to a nice crisp with tender meat. For areal hearty meal, pick from an extensive menu that has anything from Shanghainese meatdumplings to tung poh meat with buns.

Be prepared to line up for a plate of Hong Seng's famed chicken rice. Their roast chicken wassavoury-sweet with a perfectly caramelised coat. Their breast meat, usually tough and dry, wasso juicy and tender that we had a hard time believing it wasn't breast meat! The roast chickentends to run out fast but the chewy, sweet char siew is another delicious alternative.
