　　Love Your Life熱愛生活
　　However mean your life is,meet it and live it ;do not shun it and call it hard names.It is not so bad as you are.It looks poorest when you are richest.The fault-finder will find faults in paradise.Love your life,poor as it is.You may perhaps have some pleasant,thrilling,glorious hourss,even in a poor-house.The setting sun is reflected from the windows of the alms-house as brightly as from the rich man\'s abode;the snow melts before its door as early in the spring.I do not see but a quiet mind may live as contentedly there,and have as cheering thoughts,as in a palace.The town\'s poor seem to me often to live the most independent lives of any.May be they are simply great enough to receive without misgiving.
　　不論你的生活如何卑賤，你要面對它生活，不要躲避它，更別用惡言咒罵它。它不像你那樣壞。你最富有的時候，倒是看似最窮。愛找缺點的人就是到天堂里也能找到缺點。你要愛你的生活，盡管它貧窮。甚至在一個濟(jì)貧院里，你也還有愉快、高興、光榮的時候。夕陽反射在濟(jì)貧院的窗上，像身在富戶人家窗上一樣光亮;在那門前，積雪同在早春融化。我只看到，一個從容的人，在哪里也像在皇宮中一樣，生活得心滿意足而富有愉快的思想。城鎮(zhèn)中的窮人，我看，倒往往是過著最獨立不羈的生活。也許因為他們很偉大，所以受之無愧。

　　Today was Sunday. Today was September 30th, 2004. It was a boring day. It was hot. I was not a work.
　　I watched TV all morning. The shows were boring. Then I called my friend, Nancy. She wasn’t at home. I didn’t know where she was.
　　At twelve I was hungry. There was not any food in the fridge. I was lazy. I was tired. Then I ate lunch outside. At one o’clock. I was in bed. In the afternoon I was at the movies. The film was boring. I'm glad tomorrow is Monday. I can go to school and see my friends.
　　今天是星期天，2004年9月30日。這是令人厭煩的一天。今天天氣很熱，我呆在家里，不用去上學(xué)。
　　我看了一上午的電視。電視節(jié)目和無聊。于是我給好朋友南西打電話，可她不在家。我不
　　知道她去哪里了。
　　十二點我餓了，可是冰箱里什么食物都沒有。我很懶惰，也很勞累，于是我出去吃了午飯。一點我上床睡覺。下午我去了電影院。電影很無聊。很高興明天就是星期一了，我有可以返回學(xué)校見到我的好朋友了。
　　Lan and Fred易恩和富雷得
　　Lan and Fred were boys. They were both twelve years old, and they were in the same class in their school. Last Friday afternoon they had a fight in class, and their teacher was very angry. He said to both of them, “Stay here after the lessons this afternoon, and write your names a thousand times.” After the last lesson, all the other boys went home, but Lan and Fred stayed in the classroom with their teacher and begin writing their names.
　　Then Fred began crying.
　　The teacher looked at him and said,” Why are you crying, Fred?”
　　“Because his name’s Lan May, and mine’s Frederick Hollingsworth,” Fred said.
　　易恩和富雷得都是男孩，他們都十二歲了。他們在學(xué)校里是同班同學(xué)。上周五下午他們在學(xué)校里打了一架。為此老師很生氣。老師對他們說：“下午下課后留在著把你們的名字寫一千遍。”
　　最后一節(jié)課下課，所有的學(xué)生都回家了。只有易恩和富雷得被他們的老師留在教師里抄寫他們的名字。 　　接著富雷得哭了起來。
　　老師看了看他問：“富雷得，你為什么要哭呢?”
　　“因為他的名字是Lan May, 而我的名字確是Frederick Hollingsworth，”富雷得回答道。
