Rescue efforts continue to try and save 153 workers that have been trapped down a mine for two days in China.

Anxious relatives waited outside the pit in the Xiangning county in the Shanxi province, for news on their family members. Hopes are fading as water levels could be too high to sufficiently pump out.
It could be one of the worst disasters to hit the deadly industry in recent years. Over 1,000 rescuers joined the operation in the hope of finding survivors or recovering bodies.
Rescuer Jin Maiguang said: "We are racing against time and doing everything we can to put the pipes together, pump out the water and reach those who are trapped underground."
