越泰緬等國遭遇百年干旱 中國開閘放水解救

China is discharging water from a dam to the lowerreaches of the Mekong River to alleviate drought inLaos, Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam,the Foreign Ministry said Tuesday.

外交部在周二宣布，為幫助老撾、緬甸、泰國、柬埔寨和越南五國緩解旱情，我國決定向湄公河下游開閘放水。

"We will release emergency water supply fromJinghong Hydropower Station from March 15 till April10," the ministry's spokesperson Lu Kang said at aregular news briefing.

外交部發(fā)言人陸慷在例行記者會上表示：“從3月15日到4月10日，我們將從景洪水電站釋放應(yīng)急供水.”

Vietnam has asked China to discharge more water from the hydropower station in southwestChina's Yunnan Province to help overcome drought on the Mekong Delta.

越南方面已經(jīng)請求中國，希望在西南部云南省的水電站排放更多水量，以幫助克服湄公河三角洲地區(qū)的干旱情況。

Since late 2015, countries along the Lancang-Mekong River have suffered from drought tovarying extents due to the impact of the El Nino phenomenon, the spokesperson said, addingthe situation has worsened recently and threatens people's livelihoods.

該發(fā)言人表示，自2015年底以來，受厄爾尼諾現(xiàn)象影響，瀾滄江-湄公河流域各國均遭受不同程度旱災(zāi)。近期，旱情進(jìn)一步發(fā)展，給民眾生產(chǎn)生活帶來很大影響。

"In order to accommodate the concerns of countries at the lower reach of the Mekong River,the Chinese government decides to overcome its own difficulties to offer emergency waterflows," Lu said.

陸慷說道：“為了幫助湄公河下游的國家，中國政府決定克服自身困難，提供緊急水流 ”

He said water resources cooperation is an important component of the cooperationmechanism being worked on by China and other Mekong River countries.

他表示，水資源方面的合作是中國和其他湄公河沿岸國家合作機(jī)制的重要組成部分。

"China is willing to enhance coordination and practical cooperation with related countriesin accordance with the mechanism in water resources management and disaster response tobenefit the people in the region," the spokesperson added.

此外，陸慷還補(bǔ)充說道：“中方愿與相關(guān)國家加強(qiáng)協(xié)調(diào)和務(wù)實(shí)合作，按照水資源管理和救災(zāi)機(jī)制，來造福這一地區(qū)的人民。”
