進軍國際金融市場 中國工行收購倫敦金庫

China's ICBC Standard Bank, the world's biggestbank by assets, has agreed to buy a massive vaultin London. It will be the first Chinese lender to own avault in London as it looks to grow its preciousmetals business.

中國工行旗下的標準銀行是目前世界上資產(chǎn)最多的銀行，日前該行已經(jīng)就在倫敦購買一個大型金庫達成協(xié)議。這將是在倫敦擁有金庫的第一家中國銀行，而中國工行也將借此發(fā)展旗下的貴金屬業(yè)務。

The vault, which is in a secret location and is beingsold by Barclays, can hold up to 2,000 metric tons ofgold, silver, platinum and palladium. The deal will give ICBC more influence over trading,pricing and storage of precious metals.

這個金庫由英國巴克萊銀行售出，地點隱秘，可容納2000噸的黃金、白銀、鉑金和鈀。這一交易將使得中國工行在貴金屬的交易、定價以及儲存方面更有影響力。

No financial details were given but the deal is expected to be completed in July.

目前交易雙方都沒有披露更多的財務細節(jié)，但是這筆交易預計將在7月份的時候完成。

China accounts for more than a quarter of global gold demand but trading of the yellow metalremains centred out of London and New York. Around $5tn (3.5tn pounds) in transactions werehandled in London's bullion market last year.

中國的黃金需求量占據(jù)了全世界需求總量的四分之一，但是黃金貿(mào)易目前仍然是以倫敦和紐約為中心。去年，倫敦黃金市場的成交量達到了5萬億美元(約合3.5萬億英鎊)。

ICBC Standard Bank's head of commodities Mark Buncombe said the purchase "enables us tobetter execute on our strategy to become one of the largest Chinese banks in the preciousmetals market".

中國工行標準銀行商品部負責人馬克·邦科姆說，這筆交易“使我們能夠更好地執(zhí)行我們的戰(zhàn)略，成為貴金屬市場上最大的中國銀行之一。”

Last week, ICBC became a member of London's precious metals clearing system, which iswhere trades are settled. As ICBC takes on more Western clients, the bank needs infrastructureclose by to store the physical gold or metals.

上周，中國工行成為了倫敦貴金屬結算系統(tǒng)的成員，貴重金屬的交易都在這里進行。由于中國工行的西方客戶越來越多，所以需要就近的設施來儲存實體黃金和其他貴重金屬。

The vault is one of the largest in Europe and took more than a year to build. It was opened in2012 by Barclays, which says it is located within the M25 motorway that circles London.
