North Korea set to defy US warning with rocket launch

NORTH KOREA was today set to launch a long-range rocket after completing preparations to put a satellite into space, defying international calls to scrap the plan.

朝鮮今日將在完成準(zhǔn)備工作之后發(fā)射遠(yuǎn)程火箭把衛(wèi)星送入太空，而無(wú)視國(guó)際社會(huì)的要求取消這一計(jì)劃。

State media said this morning it would launch its controversial rocket "soon" as regional powers deployed warships and trained satellites on the communist country to monitor what they suspect will be a long-range missile test. US President Barack Obama warned yesterday that the international community would take action if North Korea went ahead.

國(guó)家媒體于今早報(bào)道說(shuō)，他們將“很快”發(fā)射的火箭是一個(gè)具有爭(zhēng)議的遠(yuǎn)程導(dǎo)彈實(shí)驗(yàn)，以作為其區(qū)域力量來(lái)部署軍艦和衛(wèi)星瞄準(zhǔn)以監(jiān)視他們所懷疑的共產(chǎn)主義國(guó)家 。美國(guó)總統(tǒng)巴拉克·奧巴馬于昨日警告說(shuō)，國(guó)際社會(huì)將采取行動(dòng)，如果朝鮮一意孤行。

"We will work with all interested partners in the international community to take appropriate steps to let North Korea know that they cannot threaten the safety and stability of other countries with impunity," he said.

“我們將協(xié)同所有國(guó)際社會(huì)利益相關(guān)伙伴，采取適當(dāng)?shù)拇胧?，使朝鮮知道他們將不可能毫無(wú)懲罰代價(jià)的威脅其他國(guó)家的安全與穩(wěn)定，”他說(shuō)。

South Korean President Lee Myung-bak convened a meeting of his top security officials in the basement bunker at the presidential Blue House. Today is the first day in the April 4-8 timeframe set by the secretive North for what it calls a satellite launch.

韓國(guó)總統(tǒng)李明博在總統(tǒng)府青瓦臺(tái)的防空洞內(nèi)召集了高級(jí)安全官員會(huì)議。今天是神秘北方（指朝鮮）所規(guī)定時(shí)限4月4號(hào)至8號(hào)所謂的衛(wèi)星發(fā)射的第一天 。

The United States, South Korea and Japan say the launch is a disguised test of the Taepodong-2 missile designed to carry a warhead capable of reaching Alaska.

據(jù)美國(guó)，韓國(guó)和日本說(shuō)，此次發(fā)射是大浦洞2號(hào)導(dǎo)彈的偽裝實(shí)驗(yàn)，其設(shè)計(jì)能力為可攜帶彈頭打到美國(guó)的阿拉斯加。
