So dim, so dark,

So dense, so dull,

So damp, so dank,

So dead!

尋尋覓覓，冷冷清清，凄凄慘慘戚戚。

暗淡，漆黑，壓抑，無(wú)聊，潮濕難耐，一片死寂!

The weather, now warm, now cold,

Makes it harder

Than ever to forget!

乍暖還寒時(shí)候，最難將息。

這時(shí)節(jié)，寒暖無(wú)常，恰恰是最難忘記的。

How can a few cups of thin wine

Bring warmth against

The chilly winds of sunset?

三杯兩盞淡酒，怎敵他、晚來(lái)風(fēng)急?

幾杯薄酒的溫意，怎能抵御日落后凜冽的寒風(fēng)?

I recognize the geese flying overhead:

My old friends,

Bring not the old memories back!

雁過(guò)也，正傷心，卻是舊時(shí)相識(shí)!

我認(rèn)出頭頂飛過(guò)的大雁，是舊友，卻帶不回舊時(shí)的回憶!

Let fallen flowers lies where they fall.

To what purpose

And for whom should I decorate?

滿地黃花堆積，憔悴損，如今有誰(shuí)堪摘。

就讓落花留在它落下的位置吧，又有什么理由或者是為了誰(shuí)去拿它裝飾。

By the window shut,

Guarding it alone,

To see the sky has turned so black!

守著窗兒獨(dú)自怎生得黑。

獨(dú)自守著緊閉的窗子，默默守著天空由白轉(zhuǎn)黑的變遷。

And the drizzle on the kolanut

Keeps on droning:

Pit-a-pat, pit-a-pat!

梧桐更兼細(xì)雨。

雨打可樂(lè)果(坑爹啊)劈啪作響。

Is this the kind of mood and moment

To be expressed

By one word “sad”?

這次第，怎一個(gè)愁字了得?

此時(shí)此景所傳遞的，不正是“愁”所表達(dá)的?

詩(shī)者介紹：

Favorite Li chingchao was the greatest poetess of China. Once her husband asked one of his friends to pick out the best lines that he liked from a number of his poems, having, however, concealed in them some pieces by his wife. The friend picked out, to his dismay, only lined from her pen! The beauty of her words in expressing the ultimateforlornnessin separation in his poem can only be suggested in the translation.

李清照是中國(guó)最偉大的女詞人。流傳著這樣一個(gè)典故，他的丈夫讓他的一個(gè)朋友從一本摻了一首李清照詞作的詞集中挑選最好的一首詞，讓他失望的是，他的朋友選出來(lái)的恰恰是李清照所作的那唯一一首。她詞作所傳遞的分離之后最深遠(yuǎn)的孤獨(dú)和凄涼能完全在翻譯中展現(xiàn)。
