詩(shī)中所詠的是旅居衛(wèi)國(guó)的宋人,因受某種阻撓,思?xì)w不能,面對(duì)河水,反復(fù)唱嘆。水在該詩(shī)當(dāng)中是一種阻隔的意象,主人公躑躅河邊,故國(guó)近在對(duì)岸,但卻不能渡過(guò)河去,內(nèi)心焦急,長(zhǎng)期積壓胸頭的憂思如同排空而來(lái)的浪涌,詩(shī)句奪口而出,向上天發(fā)問(wèn)以宣泄心中的不平。河面并不寬廣,一根蘆葦就可以渡到對(duì)岸,故國(guó)并不遙遠(yuǎn),踮起腳就可以望得到,夸張的修辭手法更加突出了客子思?xì)w而不得的焦急心情。
