America Confirmed New Commerce Secretary

In Washington: The Senate Commerce Committee has opened the hearing(1) to confirm Donald Evans as the new Commerce Secretary. The Texas oil businessman was chief money raiser for the election campaign(2) of President-elect George W. Bush. In Texas, Mr. Bush has been holding a second day of talks with business leaders to discuss the economy.
