On Global Warming
Global warming has become increasingly serious over the past few decades. In the past, there liave been periods in the earth's history when temperatures have risen like today;however, climate and environmental groups believe that today's global warming trend is moresevere than in the past.
These groups claim that the main cause of this modem global warming is human activity, specifically the activities that create carbon emission, such as the use of vehicles or factoryproductlion. They predict that the rising temperatures will lead to melting polar icecaps, rising sea levels and flooding of coastal areas; an increase in disastrous weather pattems; a disruption of the food chain and the possible extinction of certain species; an increase in disease due to warmer weather encouraging the growth of bacteria and viruses; and a host of other problems.
Whether or not global warming will actually lead to such disasters, I still believe that theactivities encouraged to reduce global warming are indeed beneficial to our environment.
Taking public transportation, using less electricity and recycling will certainly reduce personal carbon emission contributions and will contribute to the overall health of our world.
