As can be seen from the table, college students pay little attention to reading classics. 1 There are mainly four reasons contributing to this phenomenon. 2

First 3 , the major reason is that college students have little time for reading because they are always busy with their homework, which accounts for 48%. Secondly 3 , 20% of the students don’t read classics since they are not patient enough to read thick literary books. Another 3 20% of the students find that reading classics does little good to exams. In view of the fierce competition, academic performances always come first in students’ priorities. Facing this kind of phenomenon, I think it’s high time college students were fully aware of the importance of reading classics.
