Today our programme is about the first aeroplane with an engine.

For thousands of years men couldn't fly.It was too difficult.

Birds are able to fly with their wings.

It is very easy for them to fly.But men haven't got wings.

The first aero-planes were gliders--planes without engines.

The first plane with an engine was the Flyer.

Two brothers,Wilbur and Orville Wright,built it.

On December 17th,1903,

Orville lay on the bottom wing of his plane and started the engine.
