A: So, Rebecca, let's talk about things we wish could do that we can't do. What is something you wish you could do, that you can't do now?
 
麗貝卡，我們來(lái)談?wù)勎覀兿Ｍ龅亲霾坏降氖隆Ｓ心男┦率悄阆胱隹墒乾F(xiàn)在做不到的？
 
B: I think it would be definitely playing music, like playing a guitar. Some of my friends can just pull out a guitar and start singing and then you have everybody around and it's such a great night. I just wish I could join them and actually, yeah, have fun with that as well, but no, I can't play guitar.
 
那肯定是演奏樂(lè)器，彈吉他這樣的事情。我有一些朋友可以邊彈吉他邊唱歌，這會(huì)把所有人都吸引到他們身邊去，大家一起度過(guò)愉快的夜晚時(shí)光。我希望我也能加入，像他們那樣開(kāi)心地玩，可是我不會(huì)彈吉他。
 
A: So, if you could play any instrument, it would be the guitar?

B: Yeah. Yeah. I think so. I have played piano and saxophone before but not overly that well.

A: Oh, really so you actually had musical training?

B: Yeah, when I was in high school.

A: In the piano and the saxophone?

B: Yep. Yeah. The saxophone was maybe for one or two years and I would love to get back into playing that as well, but they're quite expensive little instruments actually.

A: Yeah. Slightly.

B: And then the piano is very large so, you can't really transport that around with you wherever you go.

A: So do you think that if had learned music at a younger age, you would still be with it? Was the problem just that you waited too late in life to start?
 
如果你從小開(kāi)始接觸音樂(lè)，那你現(xiàn)在還會(huì)堅(jiān)持嗎？你是不是覺(jué)得你接觸音樂(lè)的時(shí)間太晚了？
 
B: I don't think so. I think it's more the friends circle that I was with. We weren't really a musical group and the people that I've met now are really musical so you sort of wish maybe if I had kept going I could have joined them now, but I do enjoy listening to them.
 
我不這么認(rèn)為。我認(rèn)為和朋友圈有很大的關(guān)系，以前我接觸的人和音樂(lè)沒(méi)有關(guān)系，現(xiàn)在我的朋友都會(huì)演奏樂(lè)器，如果我一直練習(xí)樂(lè)器的話(huà)，那我現(xiàn)在也可以和他們一起演奏了，不過(guò)我很享受聽(tīng)他們的演奏。
 
A: Well, what about singing? Are you a good singer?
 
那唱歌呢？你唱的好嗎？
 
B: No. Not at all. I don't think I want to be a good singer either cause then everybody would expect you to sing all the time so I just do backup vocals. Really badly.
 
不好，一點(diǎn)兒也不好。我并不想成為好歌手，因?yàn)槿绻愠韬芎?，那其他人就?huì)一直讓你唱歌，我只能做伴唱。我唱得很差。
 
A: Well, I'm the same way. I can't sing at all. OK, so basically you wish you could play the guitar, but you have played the piano and the saxophone before.
 
我和你一樣，我唱的一點(diǎn)兒都不好?；旧蟻?lái)說(shuō)，你希望能彈吉他，你之前有彈鋼琴和吹薩克斯。
 
B: Yes.

A: OK, is there anything else that you wish you could do?

B: To be able to speak maybe a couple languages would be nice.
 
我要是能掌握幾門(mén)語(yǔ)言就太好了。
 
A: Yeah, that's a good one. So if you could speak any two languages, what two would you want to speak?

B: I think Japanese and Spanish.
 
日語(yǔ)和西班牙語(yǔ)。
 
A: Japanese and Spanish.

B: Yeah. Yeah. They both sound really interesting and they're both the countries that I would like to go and visit and maybe attempt to work there but you need to be able to speak the language before you can work.
 
對(duì)，對(duì)。這兩種語(yǔ)言聽(tīng)起來(lái)很有意思，而且這兩個(gè)國(guó)家也是我想去游覽并工作的地方，在工作之前要先掌握語(yǔ)言。
 
A: Right. That's true. I think if I could choose any two languages I would choose Chinese and Arabic just because both those languages when I hear them they sound so completely impossible to speak, so if you could speak those, that would be pretty amazing.
 
對(duì)，沒(méi)錯(cuò)。如果我能選擇兩種語(yǔ)言，那我會(huì)選中文和阿拉伯語(yǔ)，因?yàn)槲矣X(jué)得這兩種語(yǔ)言的發(fā)音非常難，如果我能掌握這兩種語(yǔ)言，那就太棒了。
 
B: Yeah, definitely. Yeah, Chinese sounds like a hard language.
