東華大學是國家教育部直屬的全國重點大學，是國家“211工程”重點建設(shè)院校，是中國首批具有博士、碩士學士三級學位授予權(quán)的大學之一，由教育部和上海市共建共管。

Donghua University is a state key university under direct administration of the Ministry of Education and is developed with the joint efforts of the Ministry of Education and Shanghai Municipal Government. it is one of the universities on the national“Project 211” and one of the first group of universities authorized by the state to grant bachelor，master and doctor degrees.

東華大學經(jīng)過半個多世紀的發(fā)展，現(xiàn)已發(fā)展成為一所以工為主，工、理、管、文等學科協(xié)調(diào)發(fā)展的多科性大學。

After half a century's development Donghua University has developed from a single disciplinary texile institute into a multi- disciplinary university with engineering as its main focus and natural science，management and liberal arts developing correspondingly

東華大學地處中國上海，由延安路校區(qū)、松江校區(qū)和新華路校區(qū)組成，校園環(huán)境優(yōu)美宜人，系“上海市花園單位”。占地面積近147公頃，東華大學有12個學院，目前擁有3個博士后流動站，29個博士學位授權(quán)點，61個碩士學位授權(quán)點、4個專業(yè)學位點，47個本科專業(yè)。有4個國家重點學科，3個上海市重點學科，同時設(shè)有國家重點實驗室、國家工程技術(shù)研究中心教育部重點實驗室、教育部工程研究中心，國家大學科技園。

Located in Shanghai，Donghua University consists of the Yan'an Rd. Campus the Songjiang Campus and the Xinhua Rd. Campus，covering a total area of 147 hectares. The beautiful campuses have gained her the title of Garden一like Unit of Shanghai".Donghua University has 12 colleges and at present Donghua University has 3 postdoctoral programs and has been authorized to offer 29 doctor programs 61 master programs and 47 bachelor programs. it has 4 state key disciplines，3 Shanghai municipal key disciplines，a batch of state and ministry key laboratories，national and ministry engineering research centers. The National University Science Park of Donghua has just been established.

學校現(xiàn)有各類在校學生近25 000名。學校擁有一批高水平的師資隊伍，現(xiàn)有教職工總數(shù)3 300余名，其中中國工程院院士7名，長江學者獎勵計劃特聘教授2人，教授、副教授等高級職稱教師近600名

The university has a total enrolment of over 25000 students and a faculty and staff of over 3300，including 7 academicians of Chinese Academy of Engineering，2 professors specially invited on “Cheungkong Scholars Program”，and about 600 full and associate professors.

歷史變遷 Glorious History

1951年東華大學的前身華東紡織工學院成立

1951 Donghua University，originally named East-China Textile Institute of Science and Technology，was founded.

1972年學校更名為上海紡織工學院。

1972 It changed her name to Shanghai Textile Institute.

1980年學?；謴?fù)原名華東紡織工學院。

1980 It restored her name as East-China Textile Institute of Science and Technology.

1985年學校更名為中國紡織大學。

1985 It changed her name to China Textile University

1999年學校更名為東華大學。

1999 It changed once again to Donghua University
