秦始皇是中國統(tǒng)一后的第一位皇帝，為了抵御匈奴，他下令建造巨大的防御墻。這項(xiàng)工程是由成千上萬的奴隸和犯人在公元前220年到公元前206年建造的。他促進(jìn)了文化和思想上的發(fā)展，同時(shí)也對中國造成了很大的破壞。應(yīng)該記住他創(chuàng)造的功績還是他的暴政是一個(gè)很有爭議性的問題，但是每個(gè)人都應(yīng)該承認(rèn)，秦始皇，是中國歷史上最重要的統(tǒng)治者之一。

Qin Shi Huang was the first Emperor of a unified China. In order to fend off the Xiongnu, Qin Shi Huang ordered the construction of an enormous defensive wall. The work was carried out by hundreds of thousands of slaves and criminals between 220BC and 206BC. He also caused both incredible cultural and intellectual growth, and much destruction within China. Whether he should be remembered more for his creations or his tyranny is a matter of dispute, but everyone agrees that Qin Shi Huang, was one of the most important rulers in Chinese history.
