繁體字,是指中國(guó)歷史上最近的一次(即1956年)漢字簡(jiǎn)化后被簡(jiǎn)體字所代替的原來(lái)筆畫較多的漢字。繁體字與中華五千年的文明史緊緊地聯(lián)系在一起,密不可分。這種聯(lián)系使繁體字在很大程度上成了中華古代文明的代名詞,象征著燦爛的中華文化。目前,繁體字主要通行于臺(tái)灣、香港、澳門與海外華人聚居區(qū),使用人數(shù)超過(guò)三千多萬(wàn)。另外,一些繁體字還在日本和韓國(guó)使用。
Traditional Chinese characters are the complex form of characters that were formally replaced by a simplified style introduced in 1956. Traditional Chinese characters are inseparable from the five-thousand- year history of Chinese civilization. This link to a large extent has made traditional Chinese characters the synonym of ancient Chinese civilization, which symbolizes the splendid Chinese culture. Currently, traditional characters are mainly used in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macao and among overseas Chinese communities where the number of users is over 30 million. In addition, some traditional Chinese characters are also used by Japan and South Korea.
