When it comes to their big wedding day, all newlyweds want everything to be perfect, be it the venue, the food, and especially, the photographs. But things rarely go according to plan, and it’s how one rolls with the punches that makes or breaks the special day.
When Rebecca Simpson and Charlie Hart exchanged vows at the beautiful Brown Mountain Beach Resort, taking photos to immortalize their union seemed like a walk in the park, after all, it’s just a couple of beautiful snaps by the water. Well, that’s when their adorable pooch Bernie decided to change their perfect plans.
While his owners were posed for a stunning wedding shot, their goofy dog Bernie had completely different plans
As the couple prepared to pose for these shots in nature, they called for the third member of their family to join them. The camera in photographer Jillian Knight’s hands was on, the beautiful bouquet by Lindsey Horne in Rebecca’s hands, the newlyweds were posing aaaand the adorable pooch ran right past them and into the water.
Instead of freaking out, the photographer encouraged the couple to just go with it and let Bernie do his thing while she captured the owners’ genuine reaction. At some point, they asked the doggie to sit, so they could snap a couple of photos that weren’t so hectic, but Bernie being a stubborn little fella, didn’t want to listen and just continued to do what he wanted – to have fun.
Of course, as much as Bernie loves fun, he also loves his family, so every once in a while the dog would run up to them to see if Rebecca and Charlie were also having a good time. What a thoughtful move from such a mischievous animal, isn’t it?
Simpson revealed that the family and the photographer weren’t the only ones having a good laugh. Apparently, all 120 wedding guests were observing the incident from afar and they all shared a giggle when they saw Bernie dash right into the water.
After the hilarious photoshoot, everyone headed for the reception where everyone had a jolly time, especially Bernie. He was showered with attention, had a chance to beg everyone for tasty bites, and, best of all, received the honorable seat at the bride’s feet. Now that’s a fairytale experience!
Rebecca Simpson originally shared the funny experience along with the shots on a Facebook page titled ‘Dogspotting Society’ on September 12. It quickly garnered 13K likes and over 700 comments as people expressed their adoration for the doggie.
