　　第十五章 齊家--無所不在的道

　　子曰：“鬼神之為德，其盛矣乎!視之而弗見，聽之而弗聞，體物而不可遺。使天下之人齊明盛服，以承祭祀，洋洋乎如在其上，如在其左右?！对?shī)》曰：‘神之格思，不可度思!矧可射思!’夫微之顯，誠(chéng)之不可掩如此夫。”

　　The Master said, "How abundantly do spiritual beings display the powers that belong to them!

　　"We look for them, but do not see them; we listen to, but do not hear them; yet they enter into all things, and there is nothing without them.

　　"They cause all the people in the kingdom to fast and purify themselves, and array themselves in their richest dresses, in order to attend at their sacrifices. Then, like overflowing water, they seem to be over the heads, and on the right and left of their worshippers.

　　"It is said in the Book of Poetry, 'The approaches of the spirits, you cannot sunrise; and can you treat them with indifference?'

　　"Such is the manifestness of what is minute! Such is the impossibility of repressing the outgoings of sincerity!"

　　子曰：“鬼神之為德，其盛矣乎!視之而弗見，聽之而弗聞，體物而不可遺。使天下之人，齊明盛服(1)，以承祭祀。洋洋乎!如在其上，如在其左右。《詩(shī)》曰：‘神之格思，不可度思，矧可射思。’(2)夫微之顯，誠(chéng)之不可掩(3)如此夫!”

　　(1)齊(zhai)：通“齋”，齋戒。明，潔凈。盛服：即盛裝。(2)“神之格思……”：引自《詩(shī)經(jīng);大雅。抑》。格，來臨。思，語(yǔ)氣詞。度，揣度。矧(Shen)，況且。射(yi)，厭，指厭怠不敬。(3)掩：掩蓋。

　　【譯文】

　　孔子說：“鬼神的德行可真是大得很啊!看它也看不見，聽它也聽不到，但它卻體現(xiàn)在萬(wàn)物之中使人無法離開它。天下的人都齋戒凈心，穿著莊重整齊的服裝去祭祀它，無所不在啊!好像就在你的頭上，好像就在你左右?！对?shī)經(jīng)》說：‘神的降臨，不可揣測(cè)，怎么能夠怠慢不敬呢?’從隱微到顯著，真實(shí)的東西就是這樣不可掩蓋!”

　　【讀解】

　　這一章借孔子對(duì)鬼神的論述說明道無所不在，道“不可須臾離。”

　　另一方面，也是照應(yīng)第12章說明“君子之道費(fèi)而隱”，廣大而又精微?？此部床灰姡犓猜牪坏绞?ldquo;隱”，是精微;但它卻體現(xiàn)在萬(wàn)物之中使人無法離開它，是“費(fèi)”，是廣大。

　　作一個(gè)形象的比喻，道也好，鬼神也好，就像空氣一樣，看不見，聽不到，但卻無處不在，無時(shí)不在，任何人也離不開它。

　　既然如此，當(dāng)然應(yīng)該是人人皈依，就像對(duì)鬼神一樣的虔誠(chéng)禮拜了。
