Jenny: Have we handed out all the water?
Susan: Yes. So what else to do now?
Jenny: Nothing. The teacher said the only thing left was to get back all the disposable cups later.
Susan: I see. How do you like the game?
Jenny: Terrific. There is one girl said:“It is the best game I've ever watched.”
Susan: Who do you think do better?
Jenny: Clive was really outstanding. Not only he put on a big show himself, but also he inspired the whole team.
Susan: Exactly. He is unbelievable.
Jenny: On the other hand, I think the other team won everyone's respect. The leader said they could have crumpled at the beginning, but they just carried on and never lost their cool.
Susan: They were really tough.
Jenny: The thing I like most about them is that they did not play with a heavy heart even though at that time the odds seemed to be against them.
Susan: I can't agree more. Okay, time is up. Let's do “the last thing”.

Grammar 語法小結(jié)——直接引語和間接引語
直接引語就是直接引用別人的話，話語放在引號內(nèi)；間接引語就是用自己的話轉(zhuǎn)述別人的話，不加引號。直接引語變成間接引語時，間接引語通常以賓語從句的形式出現(xiàn)，要注意人稱、時態(tài)、指示代詞、時間及地點狀語的變化。
1.直接引語和間接引語
（1）直接引語
He said, “I get on well with children here.”
他說：“我在這里和小朋友們相處得很好。”
（2）間接引語
He said that he got on well with children there.
他說他在那里和小朋友們相處得很好。
2.直接引語變?yōu)殚g接引語
(1)如果直接引語是陳述句，在變?yōu)殚g接引語時，由連詞that引導(dǎo)（that可省略）。主句中如果有say to somebody（對某人說），通常變?yōu)閠ell somebody（告訴某人）
She said to me, “You speak English better than me.”
她對我說：“你的英語說得比我好。”
She told me that I spoke English better than her.
她對我說我的英語說得比她好。
(2)直接引語如果是一般疑問句，變?yōu)殚g接引語時，要用連詞whether或if引導(dǎo)，同時把原來的疑問句語序變?yōu)殛愂鼍湔Z序。主句中的謂語動詞是said時，要改為asked
She asks,“Do you like the city?” 她問："你喜歡這個城市嗎？”
She asked whether/if I liked the city. 她問我是否喜歡這個城市。
(3)直接引語如果是特殊疑問句（即what, which, who, whom, whose, how, why, when, where, how, many, how long等引導(dǎo)的疑問句）。變?yōu)殚g接引語時，仍用原來的疑問詞引導(dǎo)，但要把原來的疑問句語序改為陳述句語序
He asks,“who lives next door?” 他問："誰住在隔壁？”
He asked who lived next door. 他問誰住在隔壁。
