Chinese food has become an international phenomenon as it can be found in the unlikeliest and most unexpected places. Wherever Chinese people have traveled or settled, Chinese food has gone with them. This globalization of food and food culture is echoed in China as international dishes become more popular and competed with native foods. In the United States, for example, there are three times as many Chinese restaurants as there are McDonald’s. Despite the fact that Chinese food is popular all over the world, there is little understanding of the differences in cuisines that come from different parts of China. Although westerners would be familiar with such dishes as Kung Pao Chicken (宮保雞丁) or Moo Goo Gai Pan (蘑菇雞片), they would not recognize which region of China these dishes would come from. Chinese dishes are usually divided into five main regions: the Southeast in Guangdong, the East Coast in Fujian, the Central region in Henan, the Northeastern region in Beijing and Shandong, and the Western region in Sichuan and Hunan. To most foreigners, all of these are labeled simply as Chinese food and usually served together without additional information. Cooking Chinese food at home is also becoming more popular as seen in the openings of large Asian supermarkets in many places in the world. The mixing of Chinese cuisine abroad and Western food here in China is a sign that China is becoming more developed and integrated into the community of nations.

主謂一致

在主謂一致中，謂語常用單數(shù)的有：

1. 當主語是單數(shù)，盡管后面跟有with, together with, like, except, as well as 等詞引導的短語時，謂語仍用單數(shù)

The teacher together with some students is visiting the factory.

John, together with his wife, was at the party.

2. 主語中含有each, every 或 some, any, no, every 構成的不定代詞作主語時，謂語用單數(shù)
