lay off我們最常用的意思是“解雇”,但是lay off在口語中也經(jīng)常表示“閉嘴,夠了,別再說了”。如果你對某人或者對他/她所在意的事情說了些不客氣的話,然后他/她說"Lay off!"時,他/她要表達的意思就是:"Shut up!"、"Button your lips!"、"Zip your mouth!"。
