四、其他介詞

（一）for表示目的、原因，意思是“為……”

This present is for you.這個(gè)禮物是給你的。

I am sorry for being late.對不起，我遲到了。

Let's make a salad for dinner.讓我們做個(gè)色拉做晚餐。

常用固定搭配：

for example 例如　 for a while 暫時(shí)

for free 免費(fèi)　 for one's good 為某人好

look for 尋找　prepare for 準(zhǔn)備

stand for 代表　wait for 等待

（二）of表示所屬關(guān)系，意思是“……的”

What's the weight of that parcel？那個(gè)包裹多重??？

Andy is a friend of Mark's.安迪是馬克的一位朋友。

This is a map of China.這是一幅中國地圖。

常用固定搭配：

of course 當(dāng)然　 of a sudden 突然

a kind of 一種　be afraid of 害怕

be fond of 喜歡　be tired of 討厭

be ashamed of 為感到慚愧　first of all 首先

plenty of 足夠多　out of work 失業(yè)

out of breath 上氣不接下氣　think of 想到

（三）up，down，along都是表示方向。up表示方向朝上；down表示方向朝下，along表示“沿著……”

Tim ran up the stairs.蒂姆跑上樓梯。

They began to climb down the mountains at four o'clock in the afternoon.下午四點(diǎn)，他們開始從山上下來。

Walk along Nanjing Road，and you'll see the hotel on the right.

沿著南京路走，你將發(fā)現(xiàn)酒店在你的右邊。

英語中有很多常見的固定搭配，需要記住：

on holiday 在度假　 on television 在電視上播放

on the phone 在打電話　 on fire 著火

on time 準(zhǔn)時(shí)　 in bed 在床上

in hospital 住院　 at home 在家

at work 在工作，上班　 at school 在學(xué)校，在上課
