The rap superstar appeared on the Thursday, April 18 episode of Hot Ones and clarified what he meant when he said that the pop star yelled at him for celebrating his win for best rap album too loudly at the 2007 Grammys in a recent, viral interview. Luda, 46, explained that JT, 43, wasn't literally "cursing out" at him, but rather that "it was said more in fun."
The "Act a Fool" rapper simply burst out laughing when Hot Ones host Sean Evans asked, "Fact or fiction: Justin Timberlake cursed you out at the Grammys for celebrating too much?"
He then responded, "I'm glad that you brought this up because the Internet went a little crazy with it."
Ludacris offered further context about the backstage moment and explained that the "Cry Me a River" singer was largely joking.
The Fast and the Furious star revealed, "He definitely meant it, but it was no cursing out."
"He was behind the curtain and I was celebrating so openly and I was so loud," said the hip-hop star, who won took home his first and only best rap album Grammy for his 2006 project Release Therapy, as well as the trophy for best rap song for his collaboration with Pharrell Williams, "Money Maker," that night.
The hitmaker explained, "I think it was said more in fun, but there was definitely some truth behind it. Like, 'OK, show's not over. Stop celebrating so openly, I haven’t won any yet,' but with a smile on his face type of thing."
