[00:12.25]Listen to June,a bus driver, talking about how she spends her free time.

[00:18.70]1.How often do you work in the evenings?

[00:24.16]Not all that often, actually, just when I have to.

[00:28.92]Some people like the extra money, but I prefer to be at home with my kids.

[00:34.87]2.How often do you get up early on Saturdays?

[00:42.14]Oh,all the time!My boys play football every Saturday morning,

[00:48.20]so I’ve got to be up by eight.

[00:51.75]3.How often do you see your parents?

[00:57.91]Well,they live in Wales,so,not as often as I’d like to.

[01:03.79]I suppose I see mum and dad two or three times a year.

[01:09.36]4.How often do you have your hair done?

[01:14.92]Oh,about every fortnight.It depends really.

[01:20.20]If I’m going out somewhere,I might have it done specially.

[01:25.05]5.How often do you see your best friend?

[01:30.33]Whenever I can.She lives quite near me,but she’s a hurse,

[01:36.78]so she’s got to work at weekends quite a lot.

[01:41.15]6.How often do you go away for the weekend?

[01:47.00]Oh,only a couple of times a year.It’s difficult when you’ve got children.

[01:52.95]7.How often do you go to the cinema?

[01:59.01]Oh,hardly ever.I usually wait till films come out on video

[02:06.48]and then get them for an evening.

[02:09.83]8.How often do you go clubbing?

[02:15.29]Not as often as I used to.Before I got married,I used to go out every weekend.

[02:22.76]2.Why you listen So what shall we do tonight?

[02:33.21]So what do you feel like doing tonight?Any ideas?

[02:37.88]Well,I’d quite like to see a film,or,I don’t know,

[02:44.65]see if there’s any good bands around,if you’re into bands.

[02:50.21]Yes,that’s an idea. What kind of music do you like, then?

[02:55.39]Oh,all sorts,really,you know,a lot of pop

[03:00.04]and I quite like blues and jazz and things like that.

[03:04.61]Oh,really?I’m more into dance music myself,so maybe...

[03:10.25]Well,if you’s rather,we could always go and see a film.I like really scary things.

[03:16.41]What?You mean like Halloween?

[03:19.94]Yes,that kind of thing, and I also quite like action movies,

[03:25.22]you know,car chases,guns,bombs,anything that’s fast and exciting.

[03:31.88]oh,right.To be honest with you,I’m not really that keen on violent films.

[03:38.96]You’re kidding! And I though this was going to be the perfect relationship!

[03:44.42]So did I!But it doesn’t sound like we’ve got all that much in common, really, does it?

[03:50.87]Oh come on,there must be something we can do!

[03:55.60]Let me think.Well,I suppose we could always go clubbing.

[04:02.26]What’s?Somewhere like Paradox?

[04:06.10]Is that the new plac that’s just opened?

[04:10.04]Yes,just last week.Right,so how about going clubbing,then?

[04:15.71]OK.Why not?Do you go much yourself?

[04:21.04]No,not all that often, actually.A couple of times a year,I guess.

[04:26.61]Oh,me too now,but I used to go a lot more when I was younger-almost every weekend.

[04:33.87]The thing was, though,it just got to me after a while,

[04:39.12]staying out dancng all night and then having to go to work first thing in the moring.

[04:44.55]I’m getting a bit too old for it now.

[04:48.68]Oh,well,that’s that off the menu, then! So.what shall we do then?

[04:55.65]I don’t know.Couldn’t we just get a video,and a curry,

[05:01.22]and have a nice quiet evening in in front of the telly?

[05:05.48]Oh,you’ve got to be joking! We’re not in our graves yet.

[05:11.25]I mean, that’s the kind of thing my parents are probably doing right now!

[05:16.60]Look,it’s not what I’d normally do on a Monday night,

[05:22.53]but let’s give clubing a go!It might be a laugh.

[05:27.18]Not really keen

[05:34.84]1.I love nearly all winter sports.

[05:43.38]Really?I’m not really very keen on them, myself.

[05:48.94]I once broke my leg skiing and it put me off-for life!

[05:54.01]2.Going out with a crowd of friends and having fun, that’s what I really like doing.

[06:00.78]Do you? It’s not really my kind of thing,I’v afraid.

[06:05.82]I prefer to go out with just one or maybe two people.I hate crowds.

[06:12.19]3.I’m really interstd in politics.

[06:17.65]Oh,it’s not really my kind of thing,I’m afraid.

[06:22.51]I don’t really understand what makes all the parties different.

[06:27.37]They all seem the same to me!

[06:30.82]4.I’m really into older music,you know,before 1967.

[06:37.77]Are you?I’m not really that keen on anything before 1980.

[06:43.12]5.My favourite kind of things are comics and cartoons.

[06:49.78]I don’t really like things like that mayself.I don’t see the point of them.

[06:55.84]I prefer a good novel-the longer the better!

[07:00.39]6.I’m really into roller-balding.It’s bit like roller-skating.

[07:08.04]Are you? It’s not really my kind of thing.I’m always worried I might get hurt.

[07:15.20]Reading 2 While you read

[07:23.38]Are you a bag person?

[07:27.03]Come on,admit it!You can’t resist classy carrier bags.

[07:34.30]You have some cheap and nasty bags from the local supermarket which you put your rubbish in.

[07:41.06]But somewhere at home you’ve got a collection of bags

[07:45.74]that you wouldn’t part with for the world.

[07:49.79]An Armani bag?A Gucci one?

[07:54.46]Or maybe it’s that one from the Duty-Free Shop at Kuala Lumpur Airport?

[08:01.31]They prove that you’re the sort of person you’d like to be.

[08:06.45]Recently,a London gallery held an exhibition to celebrate the carrier bag.

[08:13.53]They asked thirty top artists and designers to design a carrier bag

[08:19.88]for thirty shops which took part in the exhibition.

[08:24.35]The show was a tremendous success

[08:29.00]because it seems we are all secret carrier bag collentors.

[08:34.46]Some people go into expensive designer shops and buy the cheapest thing

[08:41.22]-just to get one of their bags.

[08:45.35]Others don’t even bother buying anything.

[08:49.74]They just ask sgraight out for a free bag for their collection.

[08:55.20]It seems that it’s not the bag we want. It’s what it represents.

[09:01.96]That’s why we throw away our boring Tesco and Marks and Spencer bags,

[09:08.41]but make sure our Harrods or Louis Vuitton ones remain in perfect condition.
