1. 在 have no choice but這一結(jié)構(gòu)中，其后通常要接帶to的不定式，表示“除了做…以外，別無(wú)選擇”或“只好做…”：

I had no choice but to wait. 除了等，我沒(méi)有別的選擇。

I had no choice but to cancel my holiday. 我只能取消假期，別無(wú)選擇。

He had no choice but to accept (= He had to accept). 他別無(wú)選擇只能接受。

He will have no choice but to ally himself with the new movement. 他將別無(wú)選擇，只能與這個(gè)新運(yùn)動(dòng)結(jié)盟。

For the above reasons, the management has no choice but to close the factory. 基于上述原因，資方別無(wú)選擇，只好關(guān)閉工廠。

2. 表示在某范圍內(nèi)選擇時(shí)，以下幾點(diǎn)需注意（注意搭配）：

(1) 在兩者之間選擇（注意 between 的使用）：

He has to make a choice between the two books. 他得在這兩本書(shū)中選擇一本。

You must make [have] a choice between this and that. ＝ You must make [have] the choice of this or that. 這樣?xùn)|西和那樣?xùn)|西你必須選擇其一。

上面最后一組句子的結(jié)構(gòu)不能混淆，如不能說(shuō)：

You must make [have] a choice of this or that.

(2) 在三者或三者之上選擇（注意 among 的使用）：

Beer is the drink of choice among sportsfans. 啤酒是受體育愛(ài)好者喜愛(ài)的飲品。

She was asked to make a choice among the three. 她被要求在這三者當(dāng)中選擇一個(gè)。

(3) 在不明確范圍選擇：

They have no choice left. 他們別無(wú)選擇。
