CNN News:挪威退出2022年冬奧會(huì)申辦 哈薩克斯坦和中國成為最終競(jìng)爭(zhēng)對(duì)手

We are eight years from the 2022 Olympics, and another country is saying don`t consider us anymore for those winter games. Norway has joined Sweden, Poland, and Ukraine in dropping out of the process to host them. Germany put its bid to a vote, and its citizens said no. Why? One reason, money. It costs billions. Host countries have to build stadiums, hotels, competition venues, and keep them all safe. Some nations don`t think they`ll see enough return on their investment.

感謝大家收看CNN不含商業(yè)廣告的學(xué)生新聞。我是Carl Azuz。距離2022年奧林匹克運(yùn)動(dòng)會(huì)還有八年的時(shí)間，并且另外一個(gè)國家表示不再關(guān)注冬季運(yùn)動(dòng)會(huì)。挪威加入了瑞典，波蘭和烏克蘭退出冬奧會(huì)申辦請(qǐng)求。德國將出價(jià)投票，但是其公民對(duì)此表示拒絕態(tài)度。其中一個(gè)原因就是錢的問題。舉辦方需要建造體育場(chǎng)館，賓館和比賽場(chǎng)館，并且要確保質(zhì)量安全。一些國家并不認(rèn)為會(huì)有足夠的投資收入。

Another reason could be political. Not everyone likes the way the International Olympic Committee runs its business and coordinates the games. Norway`s withdrawal leaves only two countries, Kazakhstan and China, as possible 2022 Olympic hosts. Effects of this year`s games on Sochi, Russia, a mixed bag.

還有一個(gè)原因就是政治原因。不是所有人都喜歡國際奧委會(huì)以商業(yè)形式經(jīng)營運(yùn)動(dòng)會(huì)比賽。挪威的推出就只剩兩個(gè)國家競(jìng)選2022年奧運(yùn)會(huì)舉辦權(quán)，一個(gè)是哈薩克斯坦一個(gè)是中國。在今年俄羅斯索契冬奧會(huì)上像是魔法袋。

The scene of the most expensive Olympic Games in history, yet 8 months on and with the athletes long gone, it`s turned from the home of gold medal winning glories to a ghost town.

這次冬奧會(huì)是奧運(yùn)會(huì)歷史上最昂貴的現(xiàn)場(chǎng)布置，在不到八個(gè)月的時(shí)間里運(yùn)動(dòng)員帶著金牌榮譽(yù)踏上返鄉(xiāng)的路途。

There is no such thing as Olympic fever here. Many of these hotel rooms in Gorki Gorod up in the mountains weren`t even ready for the games and are still unfinished. That`s over 1,000 hotel rooms still lying empty and waiting for one of the shortest ski seasons in Europe.

沒有比舉辦奧運(yùn)會(huì)更有熱情的事了。這里坐落于山上的高爾基大酒店還未建成甚至還沒有為舉辦運(yùn)動(dòng)會(huì)做好準(zhǔn)備。那里還有1000多家酒店處于空置狀態(tài)在等待著歐洲最短的滑雪季節(jié)。

And while those businesses haven`t even got off the ground, there is many that have already gone bust.

而且這些企業(yè)現(xiàn)在仍然留在原地，但是許多已經(jīng)破產(chǎn)。

What went wrong?

After Olympic Games, there was no people. There were no people at all. So we decided to close.

在奧運(yùn)會(huì)結(jié)束之后這里就沒有人在了。根本就沒有人，所以我們選擇關(guān)閉。

It`s a sad tale for the town at one end of the world`s most expensive railroad. The once hourly trains from the mountains now run just a handful a day.

這對(duì)于鐵路另一端最昂貴的小鎮(zhèn)來講是非?？杀囊患虑?，曾經(jīng)只需要一個(gè)小時(shí)的路程現(xiàn)在可以走半天。

But at the other end, 31 miles away, on the coast, one chain with 5 hotels in Sochi, has taken advantage.

但是在另一端，31英里以外的地方，5家連鎖酒店鏈條卻生意紅火。

The number of visitors has really over our expectations, so we`re very happy with the season. It`s been fantastic, the interest from domestic Russia post-games.

游客數(shù)量已經(jīng)超過我們的預(yù)期，所以在這個(gè)季節(jié)我們感到非常高興。奧運(yùn)會(huì)結(jié)束后俄羅斯境內(nèi)變得非常有活力的一個(gè)國內(nèi)景點(diǎn)。

The people that were unhappy because of the Olympics, I don`t think that those people are very smart. Because it`s an honor for any city, for any country to have the Olympic Games. It`s a real honor.

有些人因?yàn)閵W運(yùn)會(huì)感到不高興，我不認(rèn)為他們是聰明人。因?yàn)檫@是任何一個(gè)城市或者國家的驕傲，這是一份真正的榮譽(yù)。

There is plenty of reasons for those on the coast to be positive, but the question now is whether the mountain region can emulate the success. The Olympics sold itself as the games of contrasts, the challenge is to ensure its legacy won`t follow suit.

這片海岸在大部分時(shí)間是非常紅火的，但是現(xiàn)在的問題是山區(qū)的存在生意是否仍然能夠如火如荼。奧運(yùn)會(huì)以游戲競(jìng)爭(zhēng)方式出售自己，面臨的挑戰(zhàn)就是希望下屆奧運(yùn)會(huì)的舉辦可以有所收益。
