    約翰瞄了一眼那個(gè)美麗的女人。

11) Please take a brief look at the list of words.
    請(qǐng)把單詞表過(guò)目一下。
    *brief 是約略看過(guò)，take a brief look 是“過(guò)目一下”之意。

12) Sometimes Henry peeps into his sister's diary.
    亨利有時(shí)候會(huì)偷看他姐姐的日記。
    *正如有 peeping Tom（愛(ài)偷看的人，偷窺狂）一樣，peep 是指躲起來(lái)偷看。

13) If you look up, you can see the airplanes.
    抬頭看，你看到飛機(jī)了吧。
    *look up 往上看——既可以用于表胸懷大志，也可以用于指物價(jià)上漲。

14) I will look down the hallway.
    我往下看大門(mén)口吧。
    *look down 往下看，和 look up 適得其反。

15) From the mountain, Lenny can look off across the valley.
    雷尼可以從那座山眺望谷間遠(yuǎn)處的那邊。

16) In the crowd, Sam looked aside to avoid seeing her.
    在人潮中，薩姆把頭轉(zhuǎn)向旁邊，免得和她目光相對(duì)。

17) The bright light made Alex blink.
    強(qiáng)烈的燈光使阿列克斯的眼睛暈眩。
    *blink at 也有“一瞥”的意思，原意是眨眼，指一瞬之間的動(dòng)作。

18) Janet winked at her boy friend.
    珍妮向男朋友眨眨眼。
    *wink at 也有默認(rèn)的意思。不但用于表現(xiàn)愛(ài)情，也常常用作示意。
