9. Life & Death (1)

1) No one can remember what it is like to be born.
   沒(méi)有人能夠記得誕生時(shí)的樣子。

2) He was lucky to have a good home in which to grow up.
   他幸運(yùn)地生長(zhǎng)在良好的家庭里。

3) The many children of that family used to play together for hours.
   那一家的孩子們常常大伙一起玩上幾個(gè)小時(shí)。

4) Children quarrels are soon forgotten.
   孩子們的吵架很快就會(huì)被忘記。

5) The little boy left home for his first day at school.
   那個(gè)小孩第一天離開(kāi)家去上學(xué)。
   * “l(fā)eave...for...”是“向……出發(fā)”的意思的一種便利的表達(dá)。

6) All your life you make many friends.
   一生能結(jié)交許多的朋友。
   * 此際的 you 并非“你”，而是泛指人類(lèi)全體。
   e.g. You have to be careful with people you don't know.
        對(duì)陌生人要小心。

7) The times of comradeship in sports and play are full of meaning.
   這個(gè)通過(guò)運(yùn)動(dòng)或游戲培養(yǎng)友情的時(shí)代，是極有意義的。

8) Each person follows his own interests.
   人人都追求自己的利益。

9) School should be a time for learning.
   學(xué)生時(shí)代，應(yīng)該學(xué)習(xí)許多重要的事情。
   * 此際的 should，是指上學(xué)時(shí)的一定期間。注意，不加冠詞。
