53. 一切皆有可能
There are two final qualities of distinguished leadership that I want to share with you today. These may be the most important qualities of all and how lucky we are that both are a fundamental part of our Chinese culture---something we all learn from our parents virtually from the day we are born.
我今天和你們分享的最后兩點(diǎn)優(yōu)秀領(lǐng)導(dǎo)力的特質(zhì)可能是所有特質(zhì)中最重要的，而我們?nèi)绱诵疫\(yùn)，因?yàn)檫@兩點(diǎn)都是我們中華民族文化的根基，是我們幾乎從出生那天起就開始向父母學(xué)習(xí)的。
First is Perseverance. I'm talking about simple hard work and a commitment to stay the course even when times are tough. In today's fast-pace business environment, unexpected challenges come at you from all directions, with no end in sight. Sometimes I read articles about myself and my career path and it makes it sound so easy. But believe me, it hasn't been easy for a single day. I work far harder now than I ever have in my life. I've had to embrace constant change, and every time I think I've finally mastered the situation a new challenge comes along I hadn't anticipated.
第一是堅(jiān)持。我所談的是最基本的努力工作和面臨困境時(shí)也能如此的信念。在如今快節(jié)奏的商業(yè)環(huán)境下，意料之外的挑戰(zhàn)來自四面八方，看不到盡頭。有時(shí)候我讀一些關(guān)于我和我的職業(yè)生涯的文章，看上去好像一切都很容易。但相信我，沒有一天是容易的。我現(xiàn)在妥比以往任何時(shí)候都還要努力工作。我必須接納不斷的變化，而且每次我認(rèn)為終于掌握局面的時(shí)候一項(xiàng)新的沒有預(yù)計(jì)到的挑戰(zhàn)就會(huì)冒出來。
There will be many days when the challenges each of you confront will seem. We all have those days; they go with the territory when you are trying to achieve something great.
很多時(shí)候你們會(huì)感覺自己所面對(duì)的挑戰(zhàn)令人無法招架。我們每個(gè)人都會(huì)經(jīng)歷這樣的階段。當(dāng)你設(shè)法快要取得一些成就的時(shí)候，這些挑戰(zhàn)就會(huì)隨之而來。
Perseverance and hard work will see you through the tough times. My parents instilled these qualities in me and it has made all the difference. Sometimes I watch young Americans quit when things are difficult, and I always advice them try again... and again... and again. Never give up until you achieve your goal. That's what distinguishes those who make it to the top from those who don't.
堅(jiān)持和勤奮會(huì)幫助你度過困境。我的父母給我灌輸了這些特質(zhì)，的確很有意義。有時(shí)候我看到年輕的美國人在遇到困難時(shí)就放棄了，我總是建議他們一次又一次地嘗試。沒有達(dá)到目標(biāo)絕不要放棄。這就是為什么有人能夠到達(dá)頂峰，而有人卻沒有。
