世界節(jié)假日博覽 第160期:國(guó)際博物館日

International Museum Day has been held around the 18th of May every year since 1977. It was started by the International Council of Museums (ICOM). ICOM says:“The event provides the opportunity for museum professionals to meet the public and alert them to the challenges that museums face.“ It wants the public to know museums are “an institution in the service of society and of its development“. ICOM encourages its member countries to celebrate the day in a way that is best for their specific cultures. It asks countries to follow its simple motto: “Museums are an important means of cultural exchange, enrichment of cultures and development of mutual understanding, co-operation and peace among peoples.“

自1977年起，國(guó)際博物館日在每年的5月18日左右舉行。這一節(jié)日是由國(guó)際博物館協(xié)會(huì)設(shè)立的。國(guó)際博物館協(xié)會(huì)稱：“這一節(jié)日為博物館專業(yè)人士提供了接觸大眾的機(jī)會(huì)，提醒他們博物館面臨的挑戰(zhàn)。”國(guó)際博物館日旨在讓大眾了解博物館是服務(wù)于社會(huì)及其發(fā)展的機(jī)構(gòu)。國(guó)際博物館協(xié)會(huì)鼓勵(lì)成員國(guó)通過(guò)其獨(dú)有的文化慶祝這一節(jié)日，它請(qǐng)各成員國(guó)遵循其簡(jiǎn)單的座右銘：“博物館是交流文化、豐富文化和加深相互理解，促進(jìn)人們相互合作與和平的重要方法。”


Museums are an important part of every society. They are a great source of education and wonder. The UK Museums Association says a museum is: “A permanent institution in the service of society.“ It says a museum “acquires, conserves, researches, communicates and exhibits the…heritage of humanity“. It adds that museums are for “the purposes of education, study, and enjoyment“. There are museums on just about anything you can think of. There are museums for science, technology, toys, history, stamps and even museum museums. We can visit local museums that showcase a single building, or we can visit the great museums of the world that contain hundreds of thousands of priceless treasures.

博物館是各個(gè)社會(huì)的重要組成部分。它們是教育與滿足好奇心的絕妙資源。英國(guó)博物館協(xié)會(huì)稱博物館是“社會(huì)服務(wù)的永恒機(jī)構(gòu)。”“它獲取、保存、供人研究、供人交流和展示人類遺產(chǎn)。”并補(bǔ)充說(shuō)道“建立博物館的目的是教育、學(xué)習(xí)和享受。”博物館里有你能想到的任何東西。有科學(xué)博物館、技術(shù)博物館、玩具博物館、歷史博物館、郵票博物館甚至是各種展覽品類型集于一體的綜合性博物館。我們可以參觀地方獨(dú)棟小樓的博物館，也可以參觀藏有成百上千無(wú)價(jià)之寶的世界頂級(jí)大博物館。
