Meanwhile Captain Bildad sat earnestly andsteadfastly eyeing Queequeg,

比勒達(dá)船長(zhǎng)自始至終在旁邊凝視著魁魁格的一舉一動(dòng)，

and at last rising solemnly and fumbling in the hugepockets of his broad-skirted drab coat, took out abundle of tracts,

最后，他站起身來(lái)，一步步走到魁魁格面前，從自己那寬大的口袋里掏出一本書(shū)來(lái)，

and selecting one entitled The Latter Day Coming;or No Time to Lose,

那書(shū)上題著：末日來(lái)臨，或曰萬(wàn)勿遲延。

placed it in Queequeg's hands, and then grasping them and the book with both his, lookedearnestly into his eyes, and said,

他把這書(shū)放到了魁魁格手中，熱切地盯住他的眼睛，說(shuō)：

Son of darkness, I must do my duty by thee; I am part owner of this ship, and feel concernedfor the souls of all its crew;

小魔鬼，我一定要為你盡我的責(zé)任，因?yàn)槲沂沁@條船的大股東，

if thou still clingest to thy Pagan ways, which I sadly fear, I beseech thee, remain not for aye aBelial bondsman.

我有義務(wù)也有權(quán)利關(guān)心這船上水手的靈魂!我鄭重地請(qǐng)求你，放棄你以前的信仰，不要再做異教徒，

Spurn the idol Bell, and the hideous dragon; turn from the wrath to come; mind thine eye, Isay; oh! goodness gracious! steer clear of the fiery pit!

不要再當(dāng)惡魔的奴隸，趁如今上天的懲罰尚未到來(lái)，回頭是岸啊!脫離苦海吧，我的孩子!
