和與那條大鯨分不開(kāi)的無(wú)可言宣.難以名狀的種種驚險(xiǎn);

these, with all the attending marvels of a thousandPatagonian sights and sounds, helped to sway me tomy wish.

以及沿途在巴塔哥尼亞一帶見(jiàn)到的聽(tīng)到的無(wú)數(shù)聲色之奇,都幫助影響我的意圖。

With other men, perhaps, such things would not have been inducements;

在另一些人看來(lái),這類(lèi)事情也許不會(huì)使人動(dòng)心;

but as for me, I am tormented with an everlasting itch for things remote.

two and two there floated into my inmost soul, endless processions of the whale, and, midmost of them all, one grand hooded phantom, like a snow hill in the air.
