　　我的興趣完全集中在跟一個知心朋友共吸一支煙斗。共蓋一條毯子的這種精誠的舒適上了。我們肩上披著兩件毛茸茸的外套,就這么彼此互遞著那支煙斗斧,直吸得我的頭頂慢慢結(jié)掛起一個青煙的天蓋,被剛點燃的燈光照耀著。

　　究竟是不是這個起伏繚繞的天蓋把這個野人直騰駕到那老遠的地方,我可不知道,總之,他談起他的故鄉(xiāng)來了;我由于急想聽聽他的來歷,就要求他說下去,說給我聽。他欣然同意了.雖然一時間我還懂不了他多少話,然而,從陸續(xù)說出來的話里,我已比較能熟悉他那亂七八糟的語法,使我現(xiàn)在能夠把整個故事輪廓如實地勾勒出來。
