other, others與another的用法與區(qū)別

　　1. 指單數(shù)

　　若泛指用another，若特指用 the other。如：

　　Could he get another job? 他能找到另一份工作嗎?

　　This bag is slightly heavier than the other one. 這個(gè)包比那個(gè)包稍重一點(diǎn)。

　　2. 指復(fù)數(shù)

　　若泛指用 other(后接復(fù)數(shù)名詞)，若特指用the other(后接復(fù)數(shù)名詞)。如：

　　Other problems also had to be faced. 還需面對(duì)其他問題。

　　He runs faster than all the other boys. 他跑得比其他男孩子都快。

　　3. others的用法

　　永遠(yuǎn)表示復(fù)數(shù)意義(且其后不能再接名詞)。其用法大致相當(dāng)于“other+復(fù)數(shù)名詞”，同樣地 the others 大致相當(dāng)于“the other+復(fù)數(shù)名詞”。如：

　　He feels it his duty to help others. 他認(rèn)為幫助別人是他的責(zé)任。

　　I came three hours earlier than the others. 我比其他人早來3小時(shí)。

　　4. another的用法

　　一般只能表單數(shù)，且其后接名詞也只能接單數(shù)名詞。但是若其后有數(shù)詞或 few 修飾時(shí)，則也可接復(fù)數(shù)名詞。如：

　　I’m staying for another few weeks. 我還要再呆幾個(gè)星期。

　　We need another five chairs. 我們還需要五把椅子。

　　5. 與some 對(duì)比

　　與some 對(duì)比使用時(shí)，用 others(此時(shí)與 some 同義)。如：

　　Some people enjoy exercise, others don’t. 一些人喜歡運(yùn)動(dòng)，而另一些人則不喜歡。

　　6. 有關(guān)習(xí)語

　　every other 每隔一……，其他的……都

　　none other than 不是別的，正是……

　　no other than 不是別的，正是……

　　one after the other 一個(gè)接一個(gè)地，相繼

　　one from the other 分別，各別
