President Bach, former President Rudenstein, incoming President Faust, members of the Harvard Corporation and the board of overseers, members of the faculty, parents, and especially the graduates: I've been waiting more than 30 years to say this: Dad, I always told you I'd come back and get my degree.

巴赫校長(zhǎng)、前任魯?shù)撬固剐ｉL(zhǎng)、即將上任的福斯特校長(zhǎng)、哈佛公司成員和監(jiān)事會(huì)成員、教職員工、家長(zhǎng)們，尤其是畢業(yè)生們：我等了三十多年才說(shuō)出這句話(huà)：爸爸，我一直告訴過(guò)您我會(huì)回來(lái)拿到學(xué)位。

I want to thank Harvard for this honor. I'll be changing my job next year, and it will be nice to finally have a college degree on my resume. I applaud the graduates for taking a much more direct route to their degrees. For my part, I'm just happy that the Crimson called me Harvard's most successful dropout. 

我要感謝哈佛給我的這份榮譽(yù)。我明年就要換工作了，終于能在簡(jiǎn)歷上寫(xiě)上大學(xué)學(xué)位了，這真是太好了。我為畢業(yè)生們采取更直接的途徑獲得學(xué)位而喝彩。就我而言，我很高興《哈佛深紅報(bào)》稱(chēng)我是哈佛最成功的輟學(xué)者。

I guess that makes me valedictorian of my own special class. I did the best for everyone who failed, but I also want to be recognized as the guy who got Steve Balmer to drop out of business school.

I'm a bad influence. That's why I was invited to speak at your graduation. If I'd spoken at your orientation, fewer of you might be here today. Harvard was a phenomenal experience for me.

My academic life was fascinating. I used to sit in on lots of classes that I hadn't even signed up for, and dorm life was terrific. I lived up at Radcliffe in Career House.
