All the world's a stage,

And all the men and women merely players;

They have their exits and their entrances;

And one man in his time plays many parts,

His acts being seven ages. At first the infant,

Mewling and puking in the nurse's arms;

Then the whining school-boy, with his satchel

The sixth age shifts
Into the lean and slipper'd pantaloon,

That ends this strange eventful history,

Is second childishness and mere oblivion;
是孩提時代的再現(xiàn),全然的遺忘,
Sans teeth, sans eyes, sans taste, sans everything.

我想沒有人會說一個有童年,壯年,老年地人生不是一個美滿的人生。一天有上午,中午,日落之分,一年有四季之分??墒俏椰F(xiàn)在想想人生真沒有所謂好壞之分。有錢沒錢的到最后都一樣。我想只有“你人生之中的哪段經(jīng)歷或者是哪些東西在你人生中的哪一個季節(jié)是最好的”的問題。如果我們抱著這種生物學的人生觀,而循著季節(jié)去生活,那么,除了夜郎自大的呆子和無可救藥的理想主義者之外,沒有人會否認人生可以像一首詩那樣地度過去。
莎士比亞曾經(jīng)在他的人生七階段那段文章里,把這個觀念更明了地表現(xiàn)出來,許多中國的作家也曾經(jīng)說過同樣地話。我尊敬莎士比亞先生,因為他把人生當作人生看,正如他不打擾他的戲劇中的人物一樣,他也不打擾時間一切事物的一般配置和組織。他就活得和大自然本身一樣。他僅僅是活在世界上,觀察人生,最終根據(jù)生命活動的最后規(guī)則離開了世界。
